BACKGROUND

India’s North East is now ready for taking gigantic leap towards development. With high priority from the Center as well as State Governments plenty of projects in operation in the North East. With improved law and order, excellent Airlines connectivity, improved in various physical connectivity, the region is ready; for investment, tourism etc.

Colours of North East aims at highlighting North East India its potential, unique aspects especially its culture and fabric to a select group of people comprising top echelons of society of Mumbai.  The last two editions of Colours of North East organized in Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai was attended by India’s top industrialists including Adi Godrej, CEOs of TCS, L&T and other companies, Socialites like Sobha De, Top fashion designers of Mumbai, Film makers like Kiran Rao, Ronnie Lahiri, Mehul Atha and many more, celebrities like Kalki Koelchin, Tisca Chopra, Adil Hussain, Tour operators of Mumbai, top media personalities and many more.

The key outcomes of Colours of North East Programme so far;

  1. Around three films are being in North East India based on interaction during the programme.
  2. Tourists flow to the region is increasing specially from tour operators of Mumbai and Western India.
  3. Colours of North East got extensive promotion in Mumbai media, it helped in creating awareness.

The third edition of Colours of North East is proposed on 30th June, 2016 at Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai. The programme would comprise the following;

  1. North East Investment  road show-  Lunch on meeting with top industrialists with North East Governments and Govt of India.
  2. Interaction with top tour operators of West India with  Govt. of North Eastern States.
  3. Cultural evening showcasing North East’s unique culture, fabric

The investment road show would be attended by top industrialists of Mumbai and would include interaction of industry with the NE State Governments on potential for investment in the region. Top officials of Industries Deptt of NER States are likely to be present.  The investment Road show would comprise the following structure;   

        a. Top Industrial houses of Mumbai and their top officials.

        b.Top Bankers of Mumbai

        c. State Govts of North East

        d. Union Ministries

 The programme would be aimed at promoting investments in the region.  The State Govts of NER would make presentations on specific projects in the region.  The programme would be followed by interaction with  Govts. Breakfast and lunch would be part of the programme.

Tourism Road show would be attended by Tour operators, travel writers of Mumbai and Tourism Deptts of North Eastern State. The major festivals of the region like Hornbill, Sangai and Rongali festival would be promoted during the road show.

The evening cultural programme would comprise a top of the line fashion show, top musical talents of the North East. The evening would be attended by India’s best Industrialists, Bollywood’s top filmmakers, music directors, fashion designers, export houses etc.

 

 

 

 

The key outcome expected from the programme are;

    1. Investment in the North East. A platform for interaction of Governments and Industries. New industries are expected.
    2. Tourist flow to the region would increase
    3. Creating awareness about North East in Mumbai
    4. Top filmmakers would be invited to do film shootings in the NER.
    5. Designers would get a platform to sell its products
    6. A meeting points of tourism stakeholders including hoteliers, tour operators, travel writers.
